Manufacturing

Important!
The information contained in this section assumes you are familiar with the basics of navigating your Merlin system, adding and amending records, etc., as described in the Basics section of this manual.

Manufacturing

Just two buttons here, but they open important work areas.  Note the Direct Access button to Shop Floor Control in the left-hand panel, regardless of which Departmental Access tab is active:

Shop Floor Control

Shop Floor Control is where all the production activity takes place.  With the  click of a command button, you instruct Merlin to Allocate Materials, Purchase  Materials for the job, print the Pick List, Issue Materials to your Production Jobs, etc.  Merlin takes care of all the stock movements, updating your stock figures and logging the Stock Movements data.

Shop Floor Routes

Maintain Record Cards to specify the manufacturing routes or production lines in your manufacturing plant.

When you define an assembly in Assembly Library you can assign a Default Route which the system will use when a new Sales Order / Job Record card is created.  This can be changed at job level.

Waiting Materials

The Waiting Materials button provides a report listing of all materials for which jobs are waiting, and which jobs are waiting for them.  Can be printed or viewed on-screen.
